We were on a "Thai visa run" to Cambodia, and ended up in Sihanoukville, on the Gulf of Thailand. Sihanoukville was leveled by the Khmer Rouge in the 70s, because it stood as a symbol of capitalist decadency. (holidays?, what kind of bourgeoise shit is that?)
Today the city is slowly, slowly recovering and attrackting more and more foreigners and Cambodians alike. I stumbled into a "beach ball" a group of stundents from Phnom Penh had on Serendipity Beach.
